SUMMARY:
A leading FinTech company is seeking an accomplished Head of Credit & Risk with a strong background in banking or retail to spearhead its credit risk management strategy. This executive role requires a blend of strategic vision and analytical expertise to drive sustainable growth while managing credit exposure effectively.

POSITION INFO:

Strategic Leadership: Define and implement a robust credit risk management framework aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements
Policy & Governance: Establish and refine risk policies, frameworks, and procedures to optimize profitability while ensuring sound risk management across Africa
Data-Driven Decision-Making: Leverage advanced analytics and tools like SQL to identify trends, uncover risks, and drive actionable insights
Regulatory Compliance: Stay ahead of evolving regulatory standards, ensuring adherence to policies while mitigating potential risks
Portfolio Oversight: Monitor and assess credit risk exposures across all segments, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
Risk-Based Pricing: Develop and refine pricing models that balance competitiveness with financial sustainability
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with finance teams to analyze customer profitability and drive data-informed decision-making
Advanced Modeling: Utilize statistical and machine learning methodologies to enhance risk assessments and improve default forecasting
Operational Integration: Embed data-driven risk strategies into business operations to optimize outcomes and minimize defaults

Skills & Experience:
Experience: Minimum 8–10+ years in senior credit risk roles, with proven leadership at an executive level
Technical Expertise: Strong background in developing predictive models for default forecasting

Qualification:
Degree in Statistics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
