Hardware Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are a leading recruitment agency, assisting our esteemed client in finding a talented Firmware & Digital Hardware Design Engineer to join their Hardware Engineering Group. The ideal candidate will be proficient in firmware development (HDL compiled for FPGA’s), hardware development, testing, and integration.

POSITION INFO:

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop common and reusable HDL library building blocks based on industry standards.
• Design high-speed digital hardware using FPGA SOC technologies.
• Design test environments using tools such as Modelsim and XJTAG.
• Create and maintain development documentation according to the hardware development process (Requirements, Design Descriptions, and Test Documentation).
• Manage configuration and version control of baselines using GIT.
• Interface with the project management team and provide feedback on progress and schedule.

Technologies Utilized:

• FPGA SOC’s: Xilinx, Microsemi, Intel/Altera
• High-speed Interfaces: High-speed serial, CAN, PCIe, Gigabit Ethernet, DDR Memory
• Tools: Vivado, LiberoSoC, Quartus Prime, HDL Designer, ModelSim, QuestaSim, HyperLynx, Mentor Designer, XJTAG Developer, LTSpice, DOORS

Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hardware and firmware design (HDL).
• Experience in FPGA-based high-speed hardware design.
• Proficiency in VHDL coding and industry practices.
• Test, integration, and debugging skills.
• Strong design documentation skills (from requirement capture to testing capture).

• Experience in high-speed A2D interfacing to FPGAs, transceivers.
• Familiarity with firmware focused on radar and electronic warfare.
• Knowledge of Xilinx RFSOC, analog design, fiber communication, EMI design concepts, and DO-254 standards.
