Our Client in the Civil Engineering Industry is currently seeking a successful candidate that would need to manage human resources planning, policies, and strategies; employee relations; control reward & retention, report employee information & analytics; handle conflict & community disputes and conduct employee communication.
Key Competencies
- Industrial Relations within the Construction Industry is NOT negotiable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and site personnel
- Excellent Conflict Management skills
- Adept in handling Community disputes, queries and conflicts
- Proficient in the Xhosa and English languages (both verbal and written)
- Ability to deal responsibly with confidential information
- Planning, organizing, prioritizing and time management skills

Requirements
- Matric Certificate
- Tertiary Degree/Diploma in Human Resources or Relevant qualification
- A minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in Industrial Relations withing the Construction Industry.
- Valid driver’s license
Duties & Responsibilities
- Effectively manage disputes and conflict between community members, site personnel and community leaders
- Understanding community culture and ethics to ensure appropriate conflict management skills are used
- Capability to manage CCMA, BIBC and BCCEI disputes and resolutions, including conflict between employees
- Ability to build and maintain constructive relationships with management, staff and external communities so as to ensure the smooth facilitation of project completion
- Ability to facilitate and chair key meetings between stakeholders, community members and site personnel.
- Advising all employees on the interpretation, application and implementation of employment law and policies, procedures and processes.
- Facilitate the management and promotion of fair and sound Labour Relations by interpreting and applying the Employment Equity Act; Labour Relations Act; Baic Conditions of Employment Act; Workplace Law; Compensation Occupation Injuries Dispensation (COID) Act; Occupational Health and Safety Act and Bargaining Council (wages, annual leave, climatic conditions)
- Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labour relations and negotiation and personnel information systems
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently with attention to detail while following established procedures.
- Assisting with confidential documentation preparation as required
