HEAD OF IT (SSA) / IT LEAD SSA

SUMMARY:
Seeking an experience and qualified Head of IT to assist countries with in house IT issues, security and to ensure all staff in SSA have the tools to perform their jobs and assist with projects.

POSITION INFO:

The Head of IT’s role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall IT operations to ensure the stable operation of the organization’s IT in SSA. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly deskside, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. They will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion. In addition the role is IT Business partner for SSA.

REPORTING STRUCTURE

This position reports to the Regional CIO EMEA/APAC

Responsibilities:

• Manage your staff to deliver high quality IT support services
• Support the Global Service Desk in delivering services globally
• Proficient in the use of Service Now
• Understands the importance of how to work and support senior CxO’s in a Head Office environment
• Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions.
• Understand the importance of Global Standards and ensuring solutions fit within these
• Accountable for justification and in some case business case creation of any spend. Able to present and seek approvals.
• Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts.
• Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management.
• Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team.
• Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure.
• Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services.
• Assist with the planning and deployment of global security measures.
• Work within Global SLA’s under GSD
• Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action.
• Run regional projects as required
• Align with country business line leaders and country managers for service reviews and prioritization of business requirements

Requirements:

• Personable, able to work with individuals at all levels including CxO’s
• University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7 years equivalent work experience.
• Certifications in MCSE, CCIE Advantageous
• 5 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence.
• 5 years service delivery management and/or partnering experience
• Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
• 5 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team.
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware.
• Knowledge of current protocols and standards
• Ability to make sound and logical judgments.
• Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Able to conduct research into issues and products as required.
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
