Group Operations and Maintenance Manager

SUMMARY:
Our client, a leading multinational and multifaceted manufacturing company, focused on emulsions, binders and micro surfacing products, seeks to employ a diverse, high energy and professional manager, as part of their succession plan, to take over managing production and factory operations, as well as machinery, equipment across 3 plants in South Africa and East Africa. 
 
Please note that this is a highly specialised role and will suit a candidate who has managed production, factory operations, as well as maintenance of equipment in a chemical processing or related industry.   In addition, we do require a candidate who is able to travel extensively in SA, as well as into Africa and who has exceptional leadership experience.

POSITION INFO:
KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION:

• You will have completed a Mechanical Engineering qualification, coupled with a minimum of 10 years experience in managing company assets such as production machinery/equipment, as well as production output, risk management, inventory/supplier management and factory operations
• You will have a strong background in managing a diverse team of artisans and production staff, based at multiple plants, to ensure production costs are kept at a reasonable level, ensure effective maintenance schedules and drive improvements and modifications to equipment and production machinery, as well as production targets met, with the highest quality and safety standards.
• You will have a solid track record in terms of people management and development, providing technical support to the maintenance and production teams and maintain meticulous staffing and performance records.
• Sound working experience of HSE, Quality (ISO 9001 and 14001), budget compilation/management (reporting and management of expenses, variances, losses, etc) and departmental and international reporting is essential
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
