Group Head of Purchasing, Procurement, and Stock Control

POSITION INFO:

Job Purpose:

To develop, implement and maintain effective purchasing, procurement, and stock control strategies across the group, ensuring cost savings, efficiency, and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement and maintain group-wide purchasing, procurement, and stock control policies, procedures, and strategies.
Lead and manage a team of stock controllers at remote properties, providing guidance, training and development opportunities.
Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and internal requirements to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and quality enhancements.
Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers ensuring best value, quality, and in time delivery.
Implement and manage supplier relationship management (SRM) programs to ensure strategic partnerships and collaborative relationships with the right rebate programs
Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, including operations, logistics, property management and finance teams.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and reports to measure purchasing, procurement, and stock control performance.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with purchasing, procurement, and stock control.
Implement and manage inventory management systems, including stock control, warehousing, and logistics. (Implementation of new systems across the group to be done)

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or related field.

Minimum 8-10 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, and stock control, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
Proven track record of delivering cost savings, process improvements, and quality enhancements.
Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in team management and development.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
Solid knowledge of purchasing, procurement, and stock control systems, including ERP systems as well as implementing these systems. (Non-negotiable)
Certification in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (e.g., CIPS, ISM, or APICS) is desirable.
Able to work under pressure
Traveling will be frequent (at least once a week)
