Exciting Opportunity: Group Head, Operational Risk - Leading Bank in Kenya!

POSITION INFO:
Are you an Operational Risk expert with a passion for driving transformation? A prominent Bank in Kenya is seeking a dynamic Group Head of Operational Risk to lead the execution of its Group operational risk framework.

This high-impact role focuses on identifying, assessing, managing, and monitoring operational risks, with a special emphasis on scenario analysis, risk appetite, and capital assessment.

Key Responsibilities:
ð¹ Risk Strategy & Framework Development:

Develop and implement the enterprise-wide operational risk management framework.
Establish risk policies, controls, and governance structures in line with regulatory standards.
Monitor emerging risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

ð¹ Operational Risk Oversight:

Identify, assess, and mitigate key operational risks across business units.
Conduct risk assessments, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
Implement risk monitoring tools and ensure adherence to best practices.

ð¹ Compliance & Regulatory Engagement:

Ensure compliance with local and international regulatory requirements.
Liaise with regulators, auditors, and internal stakeholders on risk matters.
Provide regular risk reports to senior management and the board.

ð¹ Incident Management & Business Continuity:

Oversee risk incident reporting and root cause analysis.
Strengthen business continuity and crisis management frameworks.
Drive awareness and training programs to embed a risk-conscious culture.

ð¹ Leadership & Stakeholder Management:

Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals.
Collaborate with senior leadership, business units, and external partners.
Influence decision-making through risk insights and analytics.

Requirements to Meet Prior to Applying:

Minimum 10 years of operational risk management experience, with at least 5 years in leadership.
A university Degree and operational risk qualifications.
Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in Excel.
Exceptional communication abilities to influence and inspire stakeholders.
