As a Group Financial Accountant, your duties will include preparing and presenting accurate financial statements, consolidating financial reports from multiple subsidiaries, and maintaining an up-to-date fixed asset register. You'll be involved in financial analysis, including trend and variance analysis, and will design internal control procedures to safeguard company assets. You'll also play a key role in stakeholder communication, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and supporting ad hoc financial assignments.

Duties:

• Develop and implement financial strategies to align with long-term organisational goals
• Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and resource allocation in collaboration with department heads
• Ensure monthly comparison of actual capital expenditures versus budget forecasts
• Provide recommendations to support strategic initiatives and business growth
• investment opportunities and risks to optimize returns through financial due diligence
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including consolidation from subsidiaries
• Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring adherence to financial reporting standards
• Conduct trend and variance analysis, identify cost reduction opportunities, and monitor divisional performance
• Design and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance
• Regularly review financial processes, gather feedback, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency
• Prepare and reconcile detailed schedules that support financial statements
• Maintain relationships with financial partners, support operational managers, and assist with ad hoc financial assignments

• Matric (Grade 12)
• BCom Accounting
• BCom Honours
• CA(SA)

• Completed articles within a Big 4 audit firm
• 5 years post articles experience in a finance environment
• Proficiency in GAAP and IFRS
• Expertise in preparing consolidated financial statements and familiarity with corporate tax regulations and audits
• Experience in creating combined financial reports like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
• Understanding of how to merge financial statements from different subsidiaries or business units
