SUMMARY:
Our client, an industry leader in the Financial Services industry, is seeking a strategic and experienced Group Director, Operational Risk to lead the execution of the operational risk framework across the organization.

POSITION INFO:
Group Director, Operational Risk

This role ensures proactive risk identification, assessment, and management while driving compliance, scenario analysis, and risk insights. The ideal candidate will embed a strong risk culture and enhance operational resilience across all business areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Risk Leadership: Oversee risk management activities, including event reporting, risk assessments, new product risk evaluation, and key risk indicator (KRI) settings.
• Framework Implementation: Roll out the operational risk framework, focusing on governance, top risk reporting, capital assessment, and risk appetite metrics.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Provide strategic risk insights to senior management, ensuring robust risk-based decision-making.
• Process & Control Enhancement: Lead process mapping, risk identification, and control optimization across key business areas.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry regulations and internal policies, collaborating with auditors and regulatory bodies.
• Outsourcing & Business Continuity Oversight: Develop frameworks for outsourcing risk and oversee the effectiveness of business continuity plans.
• Training & Awareness: Promote an operational risk culture by providing training and guidance to business units.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of operational risk management experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.
• Expertise in risk governance, scenario analysis, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in data visualization and statistical modeling tools.
• Excellent stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.
