Gauteng Transport Manager

POSITION INFO:

The Transport Manager will be responsible for:

• Scheduling and monitoring large truck fleet
• Ensure the Controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all times
• Collaborate with our in-house truck workshop to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy
• Managing drivers, administrators, controllers and scheduler/s
• Managing the driver training process (truck and truck mounted crane and attachment or skip, roro mechanism and tipper)
• Keep track of and account for all diesel consumption
• Ensure that all customer transport requirements are completed timeously
• Ensure that all drivers have the correct documentation and equipment.
• Written and verbal reporting to, and communication with management is accurate and timely

QUALIFYING CRITERIA

• Transportation management diploma or equivalent will be an advantage.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in a busy transport environment
• Leadership experience and management of a team
• Computer proficiency; packages required : MS Word, Excel and outlook
