**Job Summary:**

Are you an experienced Full Stack Software Engineer with a passion for leading and mentoring a team? We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our client’s dynamic Engineering team. In this role, you will contribute to the rapid development of our investment platform, ETL reporting, and quantitative modeling. You'll work in a collaborative environment where small teams set the technical direction and continuously improve our systems.

**Working Arrangements**

Hybrid working - Southern Suburbs of Cape Town

**Responsibilities:**

- Develop and maintain full-stack applications using modern front-end technologies (Vue, Angular, or React), .Net with .Net Core, and SQL Server.

- Provide strategic technical solutions to complex problems in a distributed systems environment.

- Discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet timelines with optimal solutions.

- Perform code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to internal guidelines and industry standards.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Investment, Operations, and Compliance, to manage workflows, data warehousing, and reporting systems.

- Manage and mentor a team of 2-4 junior developers, fostering their growth and skill development.

- Ensure the long-term maintainability of the codebase by advocating for better structuring and refactoring when appropriate.

- Provide project visibility to key stakeholders and handle projects with significant scope.

**Qualifications/Requirements:**

- 8+ years of programming experience in C#/.Net.

- 8+ years of experience in RDBMS (preferably SQL Server).

- 4+ years of programming experience in modern JavaScript frameworks.

- Excellent understanding of object-oriented programming, latest architectures, and design patterns.

- Proficient with GIT version control system.

- Knowledge of database schemas that support business applications.

- Demonstrated ability to efficiently read and comprehend other developers’ code.

- Ability to architect, design, and implement scalable systems.

- Excellent client-facing written and verbal communication skills.

**Nice to Have:**

- Experience working in the financial domain.

- Experience with Azure Cloud development.
