Our client in the Petrochemical industry is seeking to employ a Flux-core Welder to join their team. Please note that this is a (fixed term contract).

Roles:
- Structural & Pipe Welding: Perform flux-cored arc welding (FCAW) on structural components, pipelines, and pressure vessels.
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct welding repairs and maintenance on petrochemical plant equipment and infrastructure.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure welds meet industry standards, including ASME, AWS, and company specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to OSHA, API, and site-specific safety regulations to prevent workplace hazards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, inspectors, and other tradespeople to ensure welding tasks align with project requirements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate welding records, including weld logs and material traceability.
- Equipment Handling: Operate welding machines, grinders, cutting torches, and other tools safely and efficiently.
- Inspection Readiness: Assist in preparing welded structures for non-destructive testing (NDT) such as radiographic, ultrasonic, or magnetic particle inspection.
Responsibilities:- Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and job specifications.
- Set up welding machines and select appropriate flux core wire for different materials.
- Perform welding operations in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead).
- Ensure proper preheating and post-weld treatments per material specifications.
- Conduct visual inspections and remove defects such as cracks, porosity, or incomplete fusion.
- Follow confined space and hot work permit protocols when welding in hazardous environments.
- Keep welding stations clean and maintain tools and equipment in good condition.
- Participate in safety meetings and hazard assessments before starting work.
Experience & Qualification- 3 to 5 years’ experience in the petrochemical industry.
- The ability to work shifts.
- Medically fit to preform duties.
- Compulsory inhouse testing for potential candidates
