Requirements
- Min of 5 years Experience in fleet control in a logistics environment
- Own Transport and license
Duties
- To ensure vehicles do work as scheduled and follows instructions as per jobs loaded
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety of all sub-ordinates
- To be responsible for the image of vehicles being kept to international standards
- To be a proud representative of the company and seek out and report any opportunities to management.
- To act in a professional manner at all times.
- To communicate effectively by reporting all incidents, accidents and or any other information related to safety, health or environment.

- To report all customer complaints and compliments to the appropriate person
- To report any possible health and safety risks that could affect other staff members
- To report any incidents or near misses to the compliance department
- To fully understand and implement the emergency plan and to respond accordingly when required
- To ensure that all hazardous and high risk tasks are identified and mitigating actions are implemented to reduce such risk.
- To reduce the number of missed lifts, which will lead to improved customer satisfaction
- Ensure all work is completed as scheduled
Manage vehicle crews daily - Drivers should complete their route sheet
- Communicate with drivers during the day to find out what lifts will be missed- if any:
- Contact customers to make them aware of these missed lifts
- Tell customers when these missed lifts will be completed
- Make sure drivers report every completed lift during the day
- Make sure that the drivers are aware of any important issues by having brief chat/discussion – Brief the drivers before handing the keys to them.
- No drivers to be handed keys if the crew and drivers does not have the appropriate PPE on.
- Tripsheets ,disposal slips ,Delivery notes to be handed to admin before 9.00am
- Undertake all duties and tasks as prescribed from time to time by your Superior.
- To check for any specific instructions that a customer may require.
- To ensure that staff wear uniforms and safety clothing whilst on duty.
- Ensure that trailers are being used daily.
- Not to allow any unauthorized and/or unlicensed person to drive the vehicle or operate the equipment.
- To only tip loads at authorized waste disposal sites or landfills.
- All safe disposals must be done first in the morning and drivers should not stop any where when they have loaded a safe disposal.
- Drivers must communicate the following:
- FEL/REL/4Tonner: When they arrive at the first customer, the driver must radio in. When the truck is full he must radio in again. Detailing at that point what customers have been done. Driver must radio in again when getting to the landfill and when leaving the landfill. When they arrive at the first customer again, the process starts all over again.
- Skips/ Rolons/ 8 Tonner/ LDV’s: Driver has to radio in when he gets to the first customer, again when he leaves that customer. Radio in again when arriving at the disposal site, when he leaves the disposal site and start the process again when he gets to the next customer.
- All Skips and Rolons must load bins in the afternoon before they part for the next day.
