Fixed Accountant

 ACCOUNTANT

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Capex budgeting
2. Monitor capex budget and update capex schedule.
3. Create purchase orders for capex related orders.
4. Ensure that all capex invoices are paid.
5. Capitalize all purchased assets on Dbit and post necessary journals on Accpac.
6. Tag assets with assigned asset numbers.
7. Facilitate disposal process by ensuring that disposal form is completed and approved,
8. Ensuring that Dbit is updated and that necessary journals are posted on Accpac.
9. Run depreciation on Dbit and post journals on Accpac.
10. Review and update the capex schedule and ensure it balances to Dbit
11. Prepare all balance sheet reconciliations related to fixed assets.
12. Prepare audit schedules relating to fixed assets and assist the auditors in their inquiries.
13. Budget and forecasting
14. Posting intercompany journals, depreciation journals and other necessary journals.
15. Run and review monthly financial statements before sending to the Trust Administrator.
16. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
17. File SARS income tax returns annually.
18. File SARS vat returns monthly and bimonthly.
19. Prepare annual financial statements for all trusts
20. Prepare audit files and assist the auditors in their inquiries.

1. Matric / Grade 12.
2. Post Matric Accounting qualification essential.
3. Minimum of 5 years working experience in the accounting fixed department.
4. Knowledge of Opera, Micros and MS Excel essential.
5. Knowledge of ACCPAC would be an added advantage.
6. Good Supervisory and communication skills required.
7. Data processing skills, analytical and communication skills required.
8. Attention to detail.
9. Ability to meet deadlines

• Shift work is an operational requirement.
• Operationally required to work in a smoking environment.
