Financial System Subject Matter Expert

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a Financial Systems Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide expert knowledge and leadership in managing their financial systems. The SME will ensure the financial systems operate effectively, comply with regulations, and meet the organization’s evolving business needs. This role involves deep collaboration with finance, IT, and other business units to optimize processes and systems.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary point of contact for all financial systems-related matters, including ERP, accounting software, and inventory & fixed assets systems.
• Provide day-to-day support for financial system users, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system configurations meet business requirements.
• Lead system updates, upgrades, and enhancements with minimal disruption to business operations.
• Analyze financial processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through system optimization.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate financial systems with other business systems, ensuring smooth data flow and process alignment.
• Conduct gap analysis to recommend solutions for improving system functionality and business performance.
• Ensure financial systems adhere to accounting standards and regulatory requirements, including participation in audits.
• Provide user training on system features and updates, and maintain comprehensive documentation such as user guides and SOPs.
• Manage system implementations, upgrades, and change requests while ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field, with an accounting major.
• 3+ years of experience with Sage X3 in a subject matter expert role, specifically in ERP, financial management software, or accounting systems.
• Strong knowledge of financial processes, accounting principles, compliance, and warehouse, logistics, inventory, and fixed asset management.
• Experience in system configuration, troubleshooting, and financial process improvement.
• Proven track record of successfully leading system implementations and upgrades.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
• Telecommunications experience is an advantage.
