Job Title: Financial Reporting Specialist

Our client, a well-established Mining company, is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Reporting Specialist to join their team based in Cape Town. This role requires a candidate fluent in Afrikaans and willing to travel quarterly across Africa to support regional operations.

Basic Duties:

• Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and company policies.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
• Manage and oversee the consolidation of financial statements across regional entities.
• Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits.
• Implement and maintain effective financial controls and reporting processes.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Travel quarterly to support regional operations and ensure reporting consistency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CA(SA), ACCA, or CIMA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in financial reporting, ideally in the Mining or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial consolidation.
• Leverage a strong understanding of OHADA accounting practices.
• Provide support for Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) compliance and coordinate with SOX-specific personnel.
• Proficiency in financial software systems and advanced MS Excel skills.
• Fluency in Afrikaans is essential.
• Willingness and ability to travel across Africa on a quarterly basis.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
