Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
The Financial Manager shall be responsible for the administrative, financial and risk management operations of the company to include the development of a financial and operational strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

POSITION INFO:
Duties:

• Providing leadership and overseeing financial accounting, driving business growth and monitoring business performance
• Finance governance and monitoring.
• Driving continuous improvement in the finance function
• Financial reporting: providing insight into the business and key drivers, through complete and accurate analysis on monthly reporting to assist with decision making.
• Present monthly and quarterly reviews of management accounts to group/executives
• Drive efficient month end finalization through implementation of SOP.
• Understand, manage and co-ordinate cost saving initiatives.
• Strictly comply with group reporting timelines and ensure financial compliance of the business meets group standards.
• Working capital management: Debtor management, supplier relationship with key suppliers is maintained and timely payments and stock management.
• Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements, i.e. (Good Governance, IFRS).
• Yearly financial audits and tax and deferred tax calculations
• Driving and managing the preparation of the budgets, forecasts including timely submission to group
• Continuous engagement with finance staff, training, identification of areas of improvement and management of the finance team, to ensure optimal performance are maintained.
• Ensure compliance with policies, legislation, regulations and good governance.
• Ensure changes in financial regulations and legislation are implemented.
• Preparation of VAT returns.
• Ensuring compliance with VAT legislation.
• Rebilling of costs across legal entities.
• Preparing budgets and forecasts for the Shared Services Division.
  
  

• Completed BCom in Accounting Degree.
• Minimum 5-year experience within Accounting and Financial Manager role.
• Must have knowledge and working experience of MS-Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Accounting Systems.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge.
