Financial Manager

SUMMARY:
Finance manager Role - Manufacturing or Industrial Industry.

POSITION INFO:

Reports to: General Manager

Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager oversees the end-to-end finance operations, ensuring accurate financial planning, analysis, and reconciliation. The role involves continuous system and process improvements, compliance with statutory bodies, and managing the financials of 3 related property entities and a family trust.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
• Membership with professional bodies (SAICA, CIMA, or equivalent)

Experience:

• 10+ years in finance or accounting, with at least 4 years in a managerial role in an industrial/manufacturing environment
• Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis
• Familiarity with Xero (advantageous), VAT reconciliations, and submissions
• Knowledge of IFRS (SMEs), tax laws, and statutory reporting
• Experience in drafting financial statements, tax calculations, and payroll tax submissions

Competencies:

• Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills
• Ability to manage a team and ensure timely financial data reporting
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and advanced analytical techniques

Main Duties & Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Monthly Management Accounts (30%)
   
   • Oversee the preparation of accurate financial statements
   • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and review monthly reconciliations
2. Budgeting & Forecasting (15%)
   
   • Manage the annual budgeting process and financial forecasts
   • Monitor financial performance and manage cash flow
3. Financial Analytics, Internal Controls & Compliance (15%)
   
   • Provide financial analysis to support decision-making
   • Ensure compliance with financial obligations, including tax regulations
4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management (30%)
   
   • Collaborate with senior management and external stakeholders
   • Lead and mentor a team of financial professionals
5. System & Process Improvements (10%)
   
   • Identify and implement improvements in financial systems and processes

Key Stakeholders

• Internal: Board of Directors, GM, HR, Operations, Marketing, Procurement
• External: Auditors, SARS, Creditors, Debtors, Bank, and other regulatory bodies
