Financial Controller

As the Finance Controller, you will take full ownership of the division’s financial function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvements. Duties:

• Oversee the day-to-day financial function of the Farming division.
• Approve all operational invoices, POs, journals, and SVAs within a 24-hour window.
• Lead and develop a capable Admin team through planning, training, and performance management.
• Manage all financial reporting activities, including preparation of the Farming P&L, tonnage tracking, and allocation of farm-level costs.
• Ensure system accuracy and integrity across SAP, Excel models, MIS, and other internal platforms.
• Drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis across OPEX and CAPEX.
• Reconcile balance sheets, perform IFRS16 calculations, and maintain accurate biological asset valuations.
• Champion process automation and financial reporting enhancements (Power BI, SAP improvements, etc.).
• Manage audit readiness and compliance for both internal and external audits.
• Deliver meaningful business insights and support operational decision-making.

• Matric (Grade 12)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

• 3–5 years of experience in a similar role.
• Strong team leadership background.
• Advanced Excel proficiency is non-negotiable.
• Experience in agriculture, commodities, or related industries is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a complex ERP environment (SAP preferred).
• Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills.
