Job Description: Financial Advisor – Relationship Banking
Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Financial Advisor to join our clients Relationship Banking team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in investments, life products, and estate & trust products, coupled with exceptional relationship management skills. This role is pivotal in delivering personalized financial advice and solutions to clients, fostering long-term partnerships, and contributing to the growth of our banking portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their unique financial needs and goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for high-net-worth and affluent clients, ensuring exceptional service.
- Financial Planning and Advisory:
- Provide comprehensive financial planning services, including investment management, retirement planning, and estate planning.
- Analyse client portfolios and recommend tailored financial solutions across investment, life insurance, and trust products.
- Stay updated on market trends to provide informed investment advice.
- Product Expertise and Sales:
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of investment products, life insurance, and estate & trust offerings to address diverse client needs.
- Identify cross-selling and upselling opportunities within the product suite to optimize client portfolios.
- Collaborate with product specialists to customize solutions for clients.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards in financial advisory activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports for client transactions and interactions.
- Team Collaboration:
- Partner with internal teams, including wealth management, legal, and operations, to deliver seamless client experiences.
- Mentor junior advisors and contribute to team development.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Required)
- RE 5 Completed (Required)
- Preferable CFP Qualification.
- NQF6 (FSB approved qualification).
- 120 Credits.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial advising, continuous industry experience
- Proof of minimum annual commission earnings of +/- R50 000 per month.
- FSP license from previous employer.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of investment strategies, life insurance products, and estate & trust planning.
- Proficiency in financial planning software and CRM tools.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage and influence clients.
- High ethical standards, with a client-first mindset.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Preference to candidates who do not have to work under supervision with relevant years’ experience they should be able to work independently.
