Job Description: Financial Advisor – Everyday Banking
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Financial Advisor to join our clients Everyday Banking team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in investments, life products, and estate & trust products, along with a passion for delivering exceptional client service. This role focuses on helping clients achieve their financial goals through tailored solutions and building long-lasting relationships within the everyday banking environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Engagement and Advisory:
- Provide financial advice and solutions that align with clients’ immediate and long-term goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with everyday banking clients, offering personalized financial guidance.
- Conduct financial needs analyses to identify opportunities for investments, life insurance, and estate planning.
- Product Knowledge and Solutions:
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of investment products, life insurance, and estate & trust offerings to meet diverse client needs.
- Present and explain financial products to clients in a clear and accessible manner.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and recommend appropriate banking products to enhance client portfolios.
- Financial Planning Support:
- Assist clients with creating and maintaining comprehensive financial plans.
- Monitor clients' financial health and adjust strategies to align with changing needs or market conditions.
- Stay informed on current economic trends and product innovations to provide informed recommendations.
- Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions, plans, and transactions in line with industry standards.
- Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with branch staff and product specialists to provide seamless client experiences.
- Support team initiatives to promote financial literacy and product awareness among clients.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (required)
- RE 5 Completed (required)
- Preferable CFP Qualification.
- NQF6 (FSB approved qualification).
- 120 Credits.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in financial advising or a related role in everyday banking.
- Proof of minimum annual commission earnings of +/- R30 000 per month.
- FSP license from previous employer.
- Core Competencies:
- Strong understanding of everyday banking products and services.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with clients.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial concepts into actionable advice.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial planning tools and CRM systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance requirements.
