SUMMARY:
Financial Accountant – Pietermaritzburg (Temp)
Our client is seeking a Temp Financial Accountant to join their team.

POSITION INFO:
Responsibilities

Perform balance sheets and bank reconciliations
Review creditors’ statements/reconciliations and ensure suppliers are paid on time
Prepare weekly and monthly reports for management
Monitor and report on cash flow (past and forecast)
Use CaseWare to prepare annual financial statements
Check accuracy of wages and salaries
Approve payments on the banking system
Prepare and submit legal tax returns on time, including:
Monthly VAT returns
Annual income tax returns
EMP201 and EMP501 returns
Assist with budget preparation and forecasts
Manage the general ledger accounts on the ERP system
Assist with the completion of external audits
Drafting of annual financial statements
Handle any finance-related projects or tasks that come up
Support the Finance GM with managing financial risks and special assignments

Requirements

Grade 12 with Mathematics
BCompt/BCom in Accounting or Finance (Honours preferred)
Completed Articles (advantageous)
At least 3 years of experience as a Financial Accountant within a corporate environment
Experience on SARS E-filing, CaseWare, Sage People 300, and Syspro
Microsoft Office Excel (Essential)
