SUMMARY:
Financial Accountant – Cape Town (Hybrid)
A leading financial services company is seeking a Financial Accountant to join their Group Finance team in Cape Town. This role offers a dynamic environment, exposure to multi-national financial operations, and the opportunity to work closely with senior finance professionals.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all transactions in the general ledger are valid, accurate, and complete.
• Oversee and review bank reconciliations prepared by bookkeepers.
• Prepare and submit monthly financial packs, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage statutory and tax obligations, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Assist in tax submissions and oversee tax compliance.
• Support internal audits and year-end financial statement preparation.
• Participate in finance improvement projects, including system implementations and process efficiencies.
• Collaborate with internal departments to align financial strategies with business objectives.

Requirements:

• Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting or related field (CA(SA), CIMA, or SAIPA in progress is advantageous).
• Experience: 2-3 years in a Financial Accountant role or completion of articles.
• Knowledge of multi-national group structures across Africa/UK is beneficial.
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably NetSuite) and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of VAT, corporate tax returns, and regulatory requirements.
• Exposure to financial services or regulated industries is advantageous.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and financial data analysis.
