Financial Accountant

SUMMARY:
My client is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join the fast-growing finance team. This exciting opportunity will involve overseeing the complete financial operations across multiple entities, including financial planning, record-keeping, reporting and ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations. If you have hands-on experience with NetSuite and Quickbooks, and possess strong proficiency in MS Office, this role is perfect for you!

POSITION INFO:

Job Description:
As the Financial Accountant, your duties and responsibilities include the following:
Execute monthly closing procedures efficiently and accurately
Analyze assets, liabilities, income and expenses to ensure accurate, valid and complete monthly reporting
Maintain and update the chart of accounts, ensuring entries are assigned to the correct accounts and periods
Prepare and review monthly account reconciliations
Handle tax audits by providing timely, accurate and appropriately formatted information
Assist in documenting and monitoring internal controls to ensure compliance
Report financial performance to directors for the entities under their portfolios
Provide financial updates to the CFO
Integrate feedback from the CFO and directors for timely corrections and improvements
Process and validate invoices in accordance with predefined rates and invoicing portfolios
Collect monthly statements, prepare reconciliations and maintain loan schedules
Perform VAT reconciliations and ensure SARS submission packs are ready for timely submissions
Capture interest, payments and verify loan balances as required
Accurately input information into Quickbooks and NetSuite
VAT Processing
Resolve audit queries on a timely manner
Assist in analysing monthly management accounts and report on any variances
Additional adhoc duties as required

Skills & Experience:
5+ years of commercial experience in a similar role
Management accounts experience

Qualification:
Completed Bcom degree
Bcom Honours would be beneficial
