The oxygen circulates rhythmically to all parts of the body bringing consciousness through the oxygenated blood. The point of interaction of the outside world with the lungs is a critical exchange involving defined ‘rules’. The same is the case with the heart and where in the body the blood is guided by it.

Accounting works with information rather than oxygen and blood. It works within a rules-based system. It is the task of the Financial Accountant to receive accounting information into the accounting system, guide it all to the right place and enable its formatting and sharing for the use of others in a rhythmical way.

2. Have and sustain a support team who are oriented correctly to their roles.
3. Enable the receiving, capturing and safekeeping of information at all points within the organisation.
4. Perform accuracy, timeous and completeness checks.
5. Recognise that your influence stretches throughout the organisation and be aware of its effect.
6. Provide objective reporting so that others can orient themselves when they use it.

Skills Required:

• A formal qualification in the field of accounting.
• Computer literate in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Sound knowledge and experience using Syspro ERP Software.
• Sound and solid background to financial accounting.
• Working understanding of accounting procedures, accounting policies and reconciliation procedures.
• Ability to question / analyse information and check for reasonableness

• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in this position.
• Stable track record showing a steady increase in the levels of responsibility.
• Sound work references.
• Experience in the manufacturing industry preferred, together with an understanding of ‘Standard Costing’ principles.
• The ability to multi-task and prioritise tasks accordingly.
• Meeting agreed deadlines to ensure month-end and other processes are not held up.
