SUMMARY:
To facilitate and assist with the initiation and implementation of projects designed to assist the Management teams with a view to improve efficiencies and detailed management reporting. Assist senior management with business plan including the turnaround. This role will also be responsible for Advisory Services, Process Design, Implementation, Financial Reporting, and developing and maintaining Financial Models to support all management of the business and aid long-term planning. The position will work collaboratively with all business unit’s management and field operations to provide a high-quality and timely service. The role of the Projects Accountant is to provide high-quality accounting, finance, control, and advisory services.

REPORTS TO: CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
Key accountabilities include:
- Delivery of timely financial reporting and insights to assist with decision making
- Preparation of accurate and timely WIRE reporting for companies assigned
- To monitor, develop, and communicate projects designed to improve performance and contribute to the success of the organisation
- Develop internal and external relationships to facilitate best-in-class delivery of financial services to the company
- Implement and manage a job card/project costing system to meticulously track and analyse all costs associated with specific projects, ensuring accurate cost data for profitability analysis and informed decision-making

KPI - Completion of business case, forecasts, management accounts, and other financial models to enable the evaluation of business opportunities, as required.
Result Area - Fixed Assets Activities - Ensure the accuracy of the Fixed Assets Register by ensuring all assets are accounted for and reconciled on a timely basis.
KPI - Assets are verified and exist and managed per company policy.
Results Area - Inventory Activities - Ensure that all processing is timely and accurate, and stock takes are completed as directed by company policy.
KPI - Reported cost of product sales is accurate.
Result Area - Staff Utilisation Activities - Identify opportunities to improve business processes/procedures that measure the utilisation of key technical resources with a view to facilitate profitability enhancements and insights.
KPI - Improve recovery rates and eliminate wasted non-billable hours.
Result Area - Continuous Improvement Activities - Identify opportunities to improve business processes/procedures that may increase efficiency or reduce the cost of doing business.
Result Area - Identify trends in the business at local and national levels and recommend any appropriate response by Business unit management.
Activities - Business improvement recommendations are made on an ongoing basis.
Result Area - Project Work Activities - To provide necessary resources for projects that arise and are pertinent to the Finance function.
Result Area - To manage Finance projects to achieve required goals.
Activities - Positive feedback from Managers and success of project or part thereof.
Result Area - All finance projects successfully completed. Result Area - Post-implementation reviews highlight project as successful. EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a Finance and/or Finance Project Role preferable
- Tertiary Qualification - Accounting
- Knowledge of Audit and Finance Systems with a control and process mindset
- Has ability and experience in the management and use of modern accounting systems
- Experience and proficiency with MS Word and Excel (advanced knowledge preferred) and experience with the internet, MS Outlook, and other MS applications
- Experience in implementing and managing a job card/project costing system to track project expenses, determine individual project costs, and analyse profit margins
- Experience in developing cooperation within a matrix organisation and service excellence in dealing with internal and external customers
