Finance Controller

SUMMARY:
Our client, a large manufacturing company, currently seeks an experienced Section Manager: Finance.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Job Requirements:

• Honours Degree in Accounting.
• CA (SA), a strong advantage.
• 5 years plus overall combined accounting and finance experience essential.
• Proven working experience as a Finance Manager/Financial Controller.
• Understanding of a project-based environment essential.
• Sage/VIP advanced knowledge.

• Financial and business risk management.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP & IFRS).
• Knowledge of system and process implementations essential.
• Must be efficient and ensure compliance in addressing technical accounting issues.
• Good communication skills (verbal & written).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Agile leadership and supervision skills.
• Ability to work in a highly pressurised environment.
• Must be deadline driven.
• Good interpersonal skills in managing relationships.

• Manage all aspects of the finance function, including:
  • Analysing financial data
  • Managing cost optimising projects
  • Making recommendations for improvement.
• Manage and co-ordinate the preparation of budget and financial forecasts.
• Manage the budget process, and report variances.
• Manage audits and attend to queries.
• Compile and review all financial reporting, including financial statements and financial results.
• Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Costing Accounting, Inventory Accounting, etc.
• Support and ensure month-end and year-end close processes, quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting, reporting requirements and tax filings.
