Farm Manager (Blueberries / Strawberries)

SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Farm Manager to oversee the production of greenhouse tomatoes.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in farming with either blueberries, strawberries or tomatoes.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams of 15+ people
• Knowledge of agricultural technology
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently

POSITION INFO:
Overview of Duties

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the farm, including crop management, irrigation, and pest control within the greenhouse.
• Manage and motivate a team of 15-30 workers, ensuring productivity and quality standards are met.
• Management of the Packhouse Manager to ensure smooth packing and dispatching processes.
• Maintain and monitor the greenhouse environment to optimize growth during both winter and summer seasons.
• Implement best agricultural practices and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Handle all farm-related logistics.
• Report regularly to farm owner on farm performance, staff needs, and any challenges faced.

• This role does not include accommodation.
• The position offers a competitive salary within the range of R30,000 - R40,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
