Environmental Manager (Pr. Sci. Nat) - Durban

SUMMARY:
The Environmental Manager will oversee the implementation of all environmental policies and procedures for the Replacement of Water Pipelines & Billing System in the Port of Durban Project. This role involves ensuring compliance with South African environmental legislation, mitigating environmental risks, and fostering sustainable construction practices. The incumbent will lead the development of the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) and ensure adherence to project-specific and regulatory requirements.

POSITION INFO:
2 year Project
Based in Durban (must live in Durban or have own accommodation)

• BSc or B-Tech in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Professional Registration:
• Registered as a Professional Natural Scientist (Pr. Sci. Nat) with SACNASP.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil construction projects, particularly infrastructure development.
• Experience with NEC3 Engineering and Construction Contracts.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements.
• Expertise in environmental risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
• Successful implementation of the EMP.
• Timely submission of environmental compliance reports.
• Positive feedback from stakeholders regarding environmental practices.
