SUMMARY:
Purpose of the Job:

Knowledge of Transmission and Distribution design philosophy and application.
Under general direction, develops and applies advanced engineering techniques, concepts and approaches to complex engineering problems.
May be responsible for developing, validating, and presenting specialist/technical output.

Key Performance Areas (KPA’s):

Undertakes an assignment addressing all the technical specification.
Serves as Primary Plant technical professional with an understanding of High Voltage Network requirements.
Develops SLD, GA and site and section plans.
Ability to interact with a multi discipline engineering team.
Proposes optimised designs that will meet end user and network requirements whilst ensuring system reliability.
Authenticates all aspects and processes of all designs adhering to ISO systems.
Manages project development within budget, schedule, and quality parameters.
Provisions Owner Engineer support or discipline-related guidance.
Support business development by identifying leads and opportunities.
Provides support to Business stakeholders.
Leverages experience by being a mentor.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum Requirements:

BSC Engineering or Adv.Dip/B Tech in Electrical Engineering.
Professional registration with ECSA is preferred.

Other competencies and requirements:

3-5 years’ experience high voltage substations.
Knowledge of Earthing, lighting, lightning studies is advantageous.
