SUMMARY:
Our client in the Automotive industry is currently looking to employ an Electrician based in East London, EC.

POSITION INFO:
Requirements:

• Red seal qualification at a reputable institution.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience (10 years preferred) performing maintenance on mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and/or robotics systems
• Experience with Plastic injection moulding, extrusion and/or thermoforming
• Understanding of the functionality of relays, motor contactors, motor starters, solid state relays, soft starts and variable frequency drives
• Familiarity with the operation and troubleshooting of PLC programming
• Ability to safely trace electrical circuits with a multi-meter and wiring schematic to find faulty components
• Experience in electrical distribution and machine controls ranging from 24 to 480 volts AC/DC
• Ability to read, interpret, and troubleshoot using schematic diagrams
• Ability to perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service

• Machine maintenance as per provided schedules (Performs PM's, cleans and lubricates injection moulding machines and equipment).
• Troubleshooting, repair and improvement of complex plastics processing and ancillary equipment.
• Will be required to perform root cause analysis, practical development and implement solutions to increase equipment reliability, efficiency, and effectiveness.
• Ensure that the facility and equipment are maintained at the highest level and runs efficiently.
• Coordinate and implement preventive maintenance activities.
• Provide guidance to peers to ensure optimum production, quality and safety while minimizing costs, energy usage and waste in accordance with corporate policies and health and safety laws.
• Modifies, repairs, and rebuilds plant machinery and equipment.
• Performs mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repairs.
• Visually inspects and solves problems in machines and equipment to locate causes of malfunctions.
• Measures parts to detect wear, misalignment, or improper operation.
• Documents repairs and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
• Fabrication and installation of related trades.
• Performing building maintenance.
• General carpentry or plumbing.
• Participates in the implementation of various improvement projects.
