Electrical technician/ electrician required to work in Singapore, Malaysia, and Jador. Our Client does the commissioning and Turnkey projects for Data Centres. A solid knowledge of MV, LV, and HV commissioning and installation. Must have skills in Data centres and commissioning skills

POSITION INFO:
Electrical Testing and Commissioning Technician: Data Centre

Singapore, Jador, Malaysia

Our client is looking for South Africans with solid skills in the Data Centre Field.

They are a leading role player in the data centre industry

Qualifications and Experience

Trade certificate or diploma in electrical engineeringÂ
At least 2 years of testing and commissioning experience in industries such as mining, oil & gas, petrochemical, or power but data centre experience would be preferred
Knowledge and understanding of high voltage, medium voltage & low voltage equipment such as transformers, backup generators, uninterrupted power supplies (UPS), switchgear, power distribution units, building management systems (BMS), and energy monitoring systems (EPMS) Â
Ability to work independently and in a team and drive contractors, with good communication skills, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

Produce commissioning sequence & commissioning plan as per the data centre project requirement
Liaise with vendors & contractors to prepare commissioning test scripts required for all electrical equipment and submit them for approval
Manage the test script approval tracker
Laise with the construction team to ensure site readiness for the commissioning of electrical equipment
Ensure and track the commissioning activities are being carried out as per schedule by clearing any blockers that may exist on-site
Track, record and update commissioning progress weekly
Chair weekly commissioning meetings with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and consultants
Issue weekly commissioning report
Manage issues and resolve them together with vendors/contractors and suppliers to ensure progress on-site
Lead testing and commissioning factory acceptance tests (FAT) and site acceptance tests (SAT) activities with vendors, contractors, and consultants
Consolidate and validate the testing reports and document them on a day-to-day basis
Close out of all testing & commissioning defects and hand over the final documents to the client.
