Electrical Technician

New Opportunity Available!! Our leading client in the Automotive Sector is looking to employ an Electrical Technician to join their dynamic team in Gqeberha/Port Elizabeth.

POSITION INFO:
Job Responsibilities:

• Perform repairs and maintenance on electrical equipment and machinery according to scheduled maintenance reports.
• Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed on time and in line with operational requirements.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults in jigs, fixtures, and robotic equipment to minimise downtime
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations during maintenance and repair tasks.
• Ensure electrical systems and equipment are compliant with safety standards and protocols.
• Assist the Electronics Technician in the implementation of new projects and the optimisation of production lines to improve efficiency.
• Collaborate in the design and installation of electrical components for new equipment or system upgrades.
• Respond to electrical breakdowns and call outs promptly to minimise production delays.
• Implement electrical changes and modifications as required to support plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work independently on assigned tasks while also contributing as part of a larger maintenance team.

• Min N3 with Electrical Trade test
• Have a minimum of 5 years’ technical experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Ability to build and repair electronic circuits / small jig panels
• Computer literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Working knowledge of CO2 welding
• Good working knowledge of PLC’s
