Electrical Engineer (Nelspruit)

We are seeking an Electrical Engineer with MV experience for a position in Nelspruit.

POSITION INFO:

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer - Medium Voltage to join our growing team and play a key role in designing and implementing medium-voltage electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop medium voltage electrical systems, including switchgear, transformers, protection systems, and distribution networks.
• Perform electrical load analysis, fault analysis, and system simulations to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Conduct detailed engineering studies and feasibility assessments for medium-voltage systems.
• Specify and select electrical components and equipment based on project requirements.
• Prepare technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Civil, and Project Engineers, to ensure the smooth integration of electrical systems into larger projects.
• Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of medium-voltage systems, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during the design, construction, and operational phases of projects.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Junior Engineers and project teams.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Experience in the design and implementation of medium-voltage electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of medium-voltage equipment and systems, including circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, and protection schemes.
• Proficient in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, PowerFactory, DigSILENT).
• Experience with electrical system analysis, including fault studies, load flow, and short-circuit calculations.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across different departments and stakeholders.
