Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

SUMMARY:
We are looking for an Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer based in the Lynwood area - Gauteng

POSITION INFO:

Job Objectives:

• To plan and align designs to business strategies and objectives to ensure effective customer service based on scope of works for the specific project.
• To design according to applicable regulatory standards and industry best practices to ensure effective cost management whilst maintaining quality standards.
• To ensure continuous improvements to the designs for optimal and cost-effective implementation.
• To lead the draughts person and Junior Engineers to ensure optimal utilization and development of these human resources.
• To implement design initiatives upon completion of project scoping, tendering and contract preparation with the client.
• To liaise with the respective clients pertaining to the design specifications and requirements to ensure client satisfaction.
• To prepare the scope of work, specifications, bill of quantities and tender documents in line with the client's needs and requirements based on tender requirements.
• To compile further information for the manufacturing and software engineering phases of the project (ref a detailed 'data pack') to ensure successful implementation.
• To test manufactured equipment and to commission systems or processes upon completion of installation.
• To provide after-service support to clients in the event of equipment failures.
• To conduct site audits and feasibility study discussions based on current and improved industry standards.
• To perform site acceptance testing and commissioning of manufactured equipment and/or systems.

• Degree/Technical Diploma or NQF Equivalent.
• 3 - 6 years design and engineering experience (including relevant design program exposure).
• Exposure to Mining Industry and Mining design experience.
• Exposure to industrial plants and processes.
• SANS Standards.
• International electrical and instrumentation standards.
• MHS Acts & OHS Act.
• Knowledge of PLC and SCADA systems.
• Proficiency with all Microsoft packages:
• Word.
• Excel.
• Projects.
• Exposure to design packages will be advantageous (Eplan, E-Tap, Auto CAD, Dessoft, Intools etc.)
