Mpumalanga & Limpopo Area – South Africa: Our client is looking for an Entomologist to join the team
POSITION INFO:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Scientific qualification in Agriculture. Preference being given to a post graduate degree in entomology or plant pathology.
- 3+ Years practical experience in the field
- Proven MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint etc.)
- IT strengths particularly in MS Excel and similar programmes.
- Analytical skills.
- Ability to focus on detail.
- Strong and ordered administrative capabilities.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Professional, friendly disposition.
- Be able to work independently and a good team player.
- Fully bilingual in English & Afrikaans.
- Valid driver’s license.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITY AREAS INCLUDE: - Provide professional recommendations for the effective commercial control of agricultural pests and diseases on citrus.
- Monitor pest and disease status throughout the year, advising farm (and marketing if required) management on risk and on market suitability.
- Provide support to farm management to ensure effective pest and disease scout reporting.
- Audit production pest and disease management.
- Make proposals for and conduct relevant pest and disease field trials.
