SUMMARY:
Our Client based in Spartan is looking at recruiting a Drawing Office Checker to review models, arrangements and drawings of draughtspersons to ensure they meet all technical specifications and are according to Company standards. The role includes identifying technical issues and suggesting solutions.

POSITION INFO:
Description:

Check Models and Drawings

Check detailed design drawings and specifications thoroughly.
Ensure proposal and costing drawings have no errors.
Check correct mathematical formulae are used and verify design calculations to ensure soundness of the design.
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas and related data and analyse to assess factors affecting
component designs and the procedures and instructions to be followed.
Check custom designs to ensure they conform to customer applications.
Identify operating deficiencies and correct as required to reduce production problems.

Compliance

Ensure that quality and safety standards are adhered to and integrated into design.
Ensure that procedures, design specifications and ISO standards are adhered to.

Draughting Support

Check that uniform standards are set for design and drawings.
Support the manager with promoting and developing a higher level of drawing skill across the team.
Document and control engineering standards and use in such a way that activities are executed professionally.
Set up, maintain and improve administrative systems for the relevant production divisions activities.
Check BOM and routings in the system (JDE).
Stakeholder Liaison
Consult with colleagues/customers on design, layout or detail components and systems to resolve design or other problems.
Confer with stakeholders to review schematics and answer questions pertaining to installation of systems.

Team Leadership

Provide on the job coaching for junior staff Provide technical support as required.

Requirements:

Matric, N6 Mechanical Engineering / Draughting Diploma.
8 years draughting experience in a relevant industry.
Driver's License is required and willing to travel outside SA borders if required.
Inventor (Displays advanced knowledge of 2D and 3D packages)
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel and Outlook) and JDE would be advantageous.
Customer focused, problem solver, can build a successful team, good decision making, communication, planning and organising skills, attention to detail, innovative, quality and safety orientated.
