Design Engineer

SUMMARY:
A multi-award-winning company seeks an exceptional professional to enhance its team. Take the lead and innovate as a design engineer for structural civil works with a premier consulting firm in South Africa. Oversee large-scale projects, delivering optimal solutions with a strong emphasis on communication, technology, and financial expertise.

POSITION INFO:

Working closely with architects, contractors, and other construction professionals to ensure designs are practical and meet project specifications
Creating construction project specifications and designs based on client needs and industry standards
Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools to develop and improve construction project designs, including creating 3D models and animations with CAD and BIM software
Performing feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses to assess the viability of new designs and construction methods
Developing and maintaining project documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and reports
Coordinating with project managers and contractors to ensure construction projects are completed on schedule and within budget
Identifying potential process improvements and cost-saving opportunities and making recommendations to senior management
In charge of creating and planning construction projects, including civil structures for major water conveyance systems, bridges, and other related structures

Skills & Experience:
Minimum 4-7 years’ experience as an Engineer
Minimum 8-12 years’ experience as a Technologist
Minimum 12 years’ plus experience as a Technician

Qualification:
BEng/BSc or BTech in Civil Engineering
Professionally registered with ECSA
