POSITION INFO:
About the Role:
As Deputy CTO, you will drive operational excellence within the TechLab, ensuring timely delivery of innovative solutions and fostering a high-performance culture. Partnering with the CTO, you will oversee resource allocation, project management, and team development, with a focus on open-source principles and community engagement. This role demands a strong leader with extensive software development expertise and a passion for advancing digital democracy.

1. Leadership and Team Development:
   
   • Recruit, onboard, and mentor a high-performing team.
   • Promote best practices, continuous learning, and innovation.
2. Software Development Oversight:
   
   • Manage all phases of the software lifecycle to deliver high-quality products on schedule.
   • Ensure projects meet stakeholder expectations while balancing team workload.
3. Knowledge Management and Advocacy:
   
   • Maintain comprehensive documentation and share insights with the civic tech community.
   • Foster collaboration across teams to drive innovative solutions.
4. Partnership Engagement:
   
   • Build strong client relationships and tailor solutions to meet their needs.
   • Negotiate and implement technology agreements effectively.
5. Administrative Duties:
   
   • Manage time effectively across multiple projects.
   • Provide guidance and support to direct reports.

• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in software development.
• Proven leadership in technology operations and team management.
• Strong commitment to open-source principles and community engagement.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
