POSITION INFO:

Our client, within the motor industry based in Johannesburg North, seeks a qualified and experienced Dealership Branch Accountant to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a motor dealership and be well-versed in the financial operations specific to the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the branch's financial records and ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
• Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reports, and budgets for the branch.
• Reconcile balance sheets and bank statements regularly.
• Ensure compliance with VAT, tax, and other financial regulations.
• Assist with the preparation of annual audits and liaise with auditors when required.
• Provide financial analysis and support to senior management.
• Maintain and monitor cash flow and perform financial forecasting.
• Supervise and train junior accounting staff as needed.
• Implement and maintain accounting systems and controls, ensuring compliance with company procedures.

Requirements:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Accounting or Finance (e.g., BCom Accounting or similar).
• Proven experience in an accounting role at a motor dealership.
• Experience with Pinnacle software is preferred.
• Must have Grade 12.
• Strong understanding of dealership-specific accounting practices and principles.
• Sound knowledge of financial regulations, VAT, and tax compliance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
