Our client is urgently looking to employ a Data Analyst at their organization

Location: Northriding, Randburg

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Junior Data Analyst.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science).
• Logistics and supply chain experience advantageous.
• Strong experience using Power BI to its full capacity across Power Query, DAX, Power BI Service, Power BI Admin, and Gateways.
• Experience working with both front-end and back-end tech teams to deliver projects.
• A genuine interest in sustainability and a desire to save the planet using technology.
• A strong background in maths and data manipulation, with an interest in programming techniques.
• Knowledge of databases and querying using SQL is a plus.
• Inquisitive about data technologies and technological advances such as relational, NoSQL, graphDB, neural networks, including LLMs.
• Familiar with Cloud-based data platforms and their advantages.
• Azure DevOps Boards and Repos.

• To provide a proactive insight service to stakeholders – this includes prescriptive, predictive, diagnostic and descriptive analysis of the business in a manner which enables the most effective achievement of our strategic goals.
• To deliver company KPIs to a cascading dashboard which presents real time company performance and predicts outcomes to enable better decision making.
• To act as the interpreter/educator sitting between stakeholders and data.
• Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing insight.
• To be a subject matter expert in the desired business outcomes and strategic reporting needs to enable it.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships around the business to develop a data strategy for how data will inform key business objectives.
• Be responsible for overall data quality, managing corrupt data and working with owners of source system data and data engineering to resolve issues at source.
• To monitor and steer the activities and behaviours of the wider analyst community, ensuring you all work in a mature and respectful way.
• Establish methods (automated and manual) which improve visibility across the activities of analysts across the business against a set of defined strategic goals.
• Run and facilitate requirements-gathering workshops with internal and external stakeholders.
• Run and facilitate business data literacy improvement.
• Continuous monitoring of product-related technical debt, working alongside the developers to ensure that sprints have an appropriate mix of new functionality, fixes and on demands changes.

• Develop a clear understanding of business goals and reporting needs to support effective data-driven decisions.
• Apply foundational data analysis techniques to enhance reporting speed and support continuous business improvement.

• Ensure Group Company policies and legal guidelines are adhered to and always followed.
• Accountable for the delivery of required documentation for regulatory reporting by due date.
• Identify ways to plug gaps in process and help drive the correct behaviours.

• Build strong stakeholder relationships around the business to develop a data strategy for how data will inform key business objectives.
• Build and maintain trust relationships with the UK, Management Team, key Suppliers and Customers to ensure business needs are met and employees are self-motivated and driven.
• Work as part of the team to share ideas and improve operation, contribute to new business initiatives and projects and review and communicate the impact of Data Analysis activities.
• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key Stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with Data Analysis strategy.
