POSITION INFO:
One of the TOP banks in S.A. is seeking an experienced DB2 / IDMS Data Administrator to join their JHB team on a 1-year contract.
Qualifications and experience:
- IT degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years' work experience on IDMS / DB2 database
- No less than 8 years' within IT, of which 5 years' is in operational DBA within a large complex corporate environment
- Understanding of mainframe operating system concepts and experience in another mainframe discipline
- Experience in DR exercise
- Willing to travel when required
- Position requires standby duties and after hours support
- Provide customer support during weekends

- Support business database applications
- Troubleshoot database an DBMS errors
- Create and maintain business database objects within IDMS / DB2 sub-system
- Perform database tuning
