SUMMARY:
Our client is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Country Manager – Nigeria to lead its operations, drive business growth, and strengthen partnerships in the region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fintech, business development, and entrepreneurship, with the ability to navigate the evolving payments ecosystem in Nigeria. This role requires a visionary leader who can drive strategic initiatives, expand market share, and enhance Visa’s presence in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Market Strategy & Expansion: Develop and execute Visa’s market strategy in Nigeria, identifying growth opportunities in fintech, digital payments, and financial services.
• Business Development & Partnerships: Lead relationship management with banks, fintechs, merchants, regulators, and key stakeholders to drive adoption of Visa’s products and services.
• Entrepreneurial Leadership: Leverage an entrepreneurial mindset to identify, develop, and implement innovative payment solutions tailored to the Nigerian market.
• Regulatory & Compliance Engagement: Work closely with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with financial regulations, industry standards, and Visa’s global policies.
• Revenue Growth & Profitability: Develop and implement revenue-generating initiatives, increasing transaction volumes and expanding Visa’s footprint in Nigeria.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Collaborate with regional and global teams in product development, marketing, risk, and operations to deliver seamless payment solutions.
• Market Intelligence & Analysis: Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior to adapt Visa’s strategy and stay ahead of the curve.
• Brand Positioning & Advocacy: Represent Visa at industry forums, conferences, and regulatory meetings, reinforcing Visa’s brand as a leader in the payments space.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
• 10+ years of experience in fintech, digital payments, banking, or financial services, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record in business development, market expansion, and partnership management.
• Strong understanding of the Nigerian fintech ecosystem, regulatory environment, and consumer trends.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in scaling businesses, launching products, or leading high-growth startups.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence decision-makers.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
