SUMMARY:
Costing Engineer/Estimator (Marine)

POSITION INFO:

This role involves the interpreting of GA drawings and technical specifications then preparing detailed project costings, sourcing suppliers of technical componentry and project cost management amongst other things.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Costing Management, Engineering, Cost Estimating or related field will be preferred.
• Proven experience in technical sourcing and costing, preferably in the manufacturing or marine industry. (Aluminium Boats)
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in sourcing software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of boats and or boat building construction processes is highly advantageous.
• Knowledge of basic imports and exports advantageous
• Understanding of Pastel Accounting programmes is advantageous, but not essential
• Proficiency in MS Office (Email, Word, Excel, Projects, PowerPoint)
• Sound Technical/ Engineering background
• Relationship management skills
