Cost and Management Accountant - Steel and Alloys Manufacturing

SUMMARY:
A well-established international company supplying non-ferrous metals and overhead conductors requires the above to maintain all cost and management accounting by driving cost efficiency, analysing financial data, and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within the company.

POSITION INFO:
Minimum requirements for the role:

• An accounting degree is essential for this role.
• The successful candidate must be familiar with Pastel Accounting.
• Previous experience having worked within a Cost And Management Accountant role.
• Sound knowledge of cost accounting of raw and final product is essential.
• Previous experience having been involved in a distribution / manufacturing company working closely with maintenance spares / inventory / stock control, goods receiving, invoicing, processing of purchasing orders etc.
• Must be able to communicate and collaborate with operational teams to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Must have advanced Excel skills.

• Maintaining all cost and management accounting by driving cost efficiency, analysing financial data, and providing actionable insights to support strategic decision-making within the company.
• The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, and management, to drive cost optimisation, improve profitability, and ensure compliance with financial reporting standards and internal controls.
• Preparing weekly cost reports and summaries, capturing of inventory, sound knowledge of reconciliations.
• Managing stock records and asset management.
• Involvement in weekly P&L reports/ stock balances/ month end and processing of invoicing for local transport.
• Generating various reports i.e. procurement and costing reports.
• Responsible for monitoring, controlling and analysing costs.
• Developing reports to achieve operational efficiency in consultation with operations and the technical department.
• Preparing and analysing cost reports.
• Conducting variance analysis to ensure costing account targets are met.
• Implementing and maintaining cost accounting systems and processes.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvement and implementing best practices to enhance efficiency.
• Providing strategic recommendations to support business decisions and profitability.
