SUMMARY:
Our client is a prominent organization in the mining and energy sector, known for its commitment to sustainability, innovation, and operational excellence. They are looking for a meticulous and driven Cost Accountant to join their team and play a key role in optimizing financial performance.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Analyze and report on cost variances, identifying areas for cost reduction and process improvement.
Prepare and maintain cost accounting records, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
Collaborate with operational teams to develop cost standards and implement cost control measures.
Conduct profitability analysis for projects and provide financial insights to guide decision-making.
Monitor inventory and perform cost analysis to optimize stock levels and minimize costs.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal controls.
Assist in preparing management reports and presentations for senior leadership.

Qualifications:

CIMA qualified (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants).
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a cost accounting role within the mining or energy sectors.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex data.
Proficiency in cost accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Knowledge of industry-specific financial regulations and best practices.
