Corporate Finance Associate

SUMMARY:
We are recruiting for an Associate – Corporate Finance to support the growth and development of our Corporate Finance Advisory business.

POSITION INFO:
This role offers exposure to a diverse range of transactions, including capital raising (equity and debt), M&A transactions, Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) deals, debt & equity capital markets, valuations, listings, delisting's, JSE Sponsor activities, and balance sheet restructuring.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in growing and developing the corporate finance advisory business, covering capital raising, M&A transactions, public-private partnerships, BEE transactions, debt capital markets and balance sheet restructuring.
• Analyze and assess potential deal opportunities, including preparing and presenting proposals to potential clients.
• Compile pitchbooks and presentation materials for client and internal meetings.
• Perform valuations using technical tools such as DCF, multiples approach, and capitalization of earnings.
• Build robust financial models to support transaction analysis.
• Prepare high-quality PowerPoint presentations for client engagements and transaction execution.
• Manage key stakeholders, understanding their objectives and tailoring solutions to meet their needs.
• Develop alternative deal structures and solutions aligned with stakeholder goals.
• Project manage and implement mandates with clients and transactions.
• Prepare transaction documentation and liaise with legal, accounting, and other professional advisors.
• Support the growth of the investment portfolio by identifying and analyzing new investment opportunities.
• Conduct post-investment management activities, including site visits, business development support, and BEE rating assessments.
• Mentor and supervise junior team members, contributing to their professional development.

• BSc degree preferred
• Highly proficient in financial modeling and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of commercial value drivers.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior experience in corporate finance, investment banking, or financial advisory is advantageous.
