SUMMARY:
Gijima Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a client. This is a three (3) month contract position. This is a hybrid role with three (3) days in the office.

The Compliance Officer ensures SBUs and Departments adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and supervisory standards by facilitating, managing, and monitoring the implementation of the company’s board-approved compliance program, policies, and procedures.

Minimum Requirements:

Law degree/ B. Com Law degree
Post-graduate Compliance Qualifications
CPRAC Qualification from CISA will have an added advantage
Minimum of 5 to 8 years relevant and practical regulatory compliance risk management or legal experience
Member of the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa

Compliance Risk Identification and Assessment

Facilitate workshops to assess and rate regulatory risks for SBUs/Departments and subsidiaries.
Review and update the regulatory framework to reflect changes and support the company’s compliance strategy.
Monitor regulatory changes, analyze their impact, and communicate findings.
Maintain and execute an annual Compliance Coverage Plan.
Identify compliance risks in business activities and provide mitigation strategies.

Compliance Risk Management

Develop and update Compliance Risk Management Plans (CRMPs) to guide responsible parties.
Advise on compliance within policies and regulatory frameworks to minimize non-compliance risks.
Support projects by identifying and addressing regulatory risks.
Promote compliance awareness through newsletters, presentations, and relevant articles.
Assist in drafting, reviewing, and aligning compliance policies with regulatory changes.
Develop and periodically update a compliance manual and related procedures.

Compliance Risk Monitoring

Plan and execute compliance monitoring activities, including control assessments and spot checks.
Ensure business processes align with legislative requirements and mitigate risks.
Prepare Compliance Review Reports, outline corrective actions, and track implementation progress.
Maintain and update the Compliance Issues Log to reflect accurate findings and corrective actions.

Compliance Risk Reporting

Submit quarterly Compliance Risk Profile Reports to Divisional Executives.
Provide input for internal reports on compliance activities and risks for governance committees.

Training and Awareness

Conduct regular compliance training to foster a compliant culture.
Communicate compliance policies and procedures to employees organization-wide.
Update training materials and deliver programs to enhance understanding of compliance requirements.
