A leading player in the online gambling sector is looking for a driven and strategic Compliance Manager to join their team in South Africa. This is a unique opportunity to step into a pivotal role, ensuring the business remains fully aligned with regulatory obligations while fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive professional with deep knowledge of South African gambling regulations, anti-money laundering protocols, and risk management practices. A natural communicator and problem-solver, they’ll be just as comfortable presenting to executives as they are managing audits or updating compliance frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

Designing and managing robust compliance and governance frameworks.
Overseeing AML policies, risk controls and due diligence processes.
Leading regulatory audits, reporting and stakeholder communications.
Ensuring alignment with POPIA, PAIA, B-BBEE and Employment Equity legislation.
Training internal teams and embedding a culture of compliance across the business.

What we''re looking for:

5+ years’ experience in compliance within gambling, financial services or another regulated environment.
Strong working knowledge of South African regulatory frameworks, AML/CTF obligations, data protection laws, and responsible gambling standards.
A legal qualification (BCom Law/LLB) with further postgraduate studies is a plus.
Proven ability to build and lead compliance programmes from the ground up.
Confident in working independently, managing multiple priorities, and influencing senior stakeholders.
