SUMMARY:
The Company Secretary ensures corporate governance excellence, manages legal and statutory obligations, and aligns board responsibilities with organizational objectives. This role supports the Governance Executive in maintaining compliance and governance standards across corporate entities.

POSITION INFO:
Key Responsibilities:

Provide strategic advice on governance and secretarial matters to the Board and Exco.
Develop and implement governance strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Prepare and distribute board and committee documentation, ensuring timely action and implementation of decisions.
Conduct annual assessments, compliance checks, and regulatory filings.
Maintain and update governance policies and ensure adherence to legislative requirements.
Manage logistics for board and committee meetings and deliver training for board members.

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a company secretarial role, preferably within financial services.
Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks, legislative requirements, and compliance standards.
Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., BCom Law or LLB); certifications in company secretarial practice are advantageous.
